Fine Arts Education:

October, 1999-December, 2002: Apprentice with established regional artist Jane Filer.    Focus on studio painting with emphasis on exploration of acrylic media, color theory, and artistic
direction.

January, 1996-July, 2001: Oil and Acrylic Painting Carrboro Arts Center: Open studio: Course emphasis on mastery of the fundamentals of painting with a focus initially on realism and representational works in acrylic mediums. Continue development of a personal painting style and accumulation of a cohesive body of work. Discover texture in painting and explore more abstraction in work with less emphasis on representational pieces.
